Job summary This is an exciting opportunity for a Staff Nurse to join our 28 bedded Whitley Ward in the Royal Berkshire Hospital. We care for a wide group of cardiology patients as well medical patients. We recognize the importance of development and pride ourselves with running multiple in house workshops including ECG workshops and scenario based training. We have a dedicated practice educator who is committed to the developmental needs of the unit along with the senior team including the ward manager, band 7 's and lead nurse. There is also the ability to undertake various courses both within the trust and in paired partnership with universities. The senior staff nurse will have the ability to enroll onto the Band 6 development Programme which provide various competencies in which will aid their development within the role. Main duties of the job The post-holder is responsible for undertaking and recording acomprehensive nursing assessment and planning, delivering and evaluatinghigh standards of evidenced based nursing care to a diverse group ofpatients. 1. Is expected to deliver care without direct supervision. Is accountable forthe care delivered and any omissions of care. 2. Is expected to teach and supervise more junior staff, students and the nonregistered nursing workforce. 3. Is accountable for care or any omissions of care that he/she delegates to others. 4.
