Our client, a renowned multiservice law firm specialising in criminal defence, family law, housing, civil liberties, and human rights, is currently recruiting for a Paralegal to join their Prison Law team, based at their Dartford office. Main Responsibilities: Take a professional, proactive approach with strong client care skills and a sensitive, empathetic understanding of clients’ needs. Handle opening files and general administrative tasks. Assist with casework, including a variety of prison law matters. Attend to clients, take instructions, and prepare cases accordingly. Manage correspondence effectively and promptly. Implement any recommendations made by your supervisor following monthly file reviews, ensuring timely follow-up. Ensure compliance with file management and maintain high standards of organisation. Key Skills Required: Knowledge of Prison Law. Experience in Criminal/Prison Law is beneficial. A strong academic background, preferably with a Law degree, though not essential. Previous legal experience as a Prison Law Paralegal/Advisor is preferred but not essential. Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse clients and colleagues effectively. Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take initiative and seek guidance when needed. A committed team player, self-motivated, and professional. Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Office applications and document management systems.
