IT Infrastructure Manager - Wilmslow
ROLE SUMMARY:
This is a highly visible key senior role, responsible for taking forward the company’s technology roadmap for the IT Infrastructure. Ensuring the business operation runs in an effective and efficient manner, ensuring maintenance, security and associated technical compliance tasks are achieved and monitored. A key part of the role will be working closely with the Change Delivery manager to strategically plan and support the change/development IT team.

ROLE PURPOSE:
Strategy and Roadmap:
1. Develops and delivers a roadmap for IT Infrastructure.
2. Develops and evolves a modern workplace strategy, providing end user technology which is flexible, safe and seamless irrelevant of location.
3. Deploys, develops and encourages adoption of the Omni Channel communications capabilities.
4. Perform root cause analysis of recurring or major incidents and develop a Problem Management Roadmap.
5. Use Capacity Management and Monitoring to influence IT investment roadmaps.
Operational Engagement:
1. Builds strong relationships with business leadership to ensure customer service is delivered to high standard and the challenges and improvements are understood to build the IT Infrastructure roadmap.
Risk and Compliance:
1. Provides oversight of processes, ensuring alignment with policy, risk management and the requirements of ISO27001.
2. Owns the IT risk register and risk treatment plan and provides appropriate updates on IT risk to the board.
3. Works with Corporate Services Manager to maintain ISO27001 and any other compliance or customer technical requirements.
4. Works with Corporate Services Manager and Commercial team to manage responses to customer technical due diligence / audits.
Infrastructure:
1. Ensures that the IT Infrastructure is reliable, performant, secure and supported by manufacturers/vendors.
2. Develops ongoing strategies to ensure consistency, supportability and the security of our network, server and cloud architectures.
3. Manages the disaster recovery capability in line with Business Continuity Plans.
4. Considers the external and internal experience across the operation and ensures that processes and technology adoption are well considered and in the context of formalised ways of working.
5. Works with internal stakeholders and external service providers to bring innovative improvements to the IT Infrastructure.
6. Works with the Head of Business Improvement to ensure that there is sufficient resource and skill and bandwidth to deliver the roadmap to timescale.
Supplier Management:
1. Fosters productive and positive partnerships with IT Partners in order to create seamless service delivery.
2. Manages IT suppliers and partners, tracks performance and manages cost.
3. Monitors supplier value and performance on a regular basis and takes steps to improve performance when standards fall below acceptable levels.
4. Identifies the need for and procures new partners in order to meet the needs of technology and transformation roadmaps.
5. Maintains IT contract schedules for all providers and ensures terms are favourable.
Team Leadership:
1. Manages the IT delivery and service teams. Ensuring a shared vision of the strategic objectives and goals for IT are understood by all.
2. Ensures that all team members have objectives, regular performance reviews and personal development plans.
3. Engages with the IT Team on a regular basis; including regular team meetings and one to one sessions between team members and their manager aligned with the business cultural ethos.
Budget:
1. Works with the CIO, Head of Business Improvement and the Finance Director to propose annual budgets which support the business plan and IT Strategy roadmaps.
2. Responsible for managing the Infrastructure IT budget.
3. Provides commercially viable business cases for all initiatives or projects.
4. Demonstrates ongoing benefit delivery of IT Projects.
5. Manages the implementation of IT delivery to time, budget and quality expectations. Applies appropriate, formal techniques to establish the scope of projects, delivery approaches and resource requirements.
Reporting:
1. Provides regular updates to the Head of Business Improvement regarding risk, delivery against roadmaps, priorities delivered.
Qualifications:
1. Degree Qualified or time served experience in similar roles.
2. Prince2 Project Management or similar, desired not essential.
3. Microsoft Certified.
4. ITIL v3 Foundation.
Knowledge & Behaviours:
1. Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace.
2. Strong Azure Cloud Infrastructure architecture understanding.
3. Security techniques and platforms including ISO27001 / Cyber Essentials Plus.
4. Contract and commercial negotiations.
