Job title: SHE & Facilities Manager Location: Sheffield – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role Salary: Up to £62,000 (Depending on skills and experience) What you’ll be doing: You will be leading the maintenance and deployment of a SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) management system aligned with BAE Systems Operational Framework and international standards (ISO45001, ISO14001) to support organisational objectives You will provide comprehensive SHE governance and advisory services to Line Leaders, enabling effective management of SHE risks within their operational areas You will manage and develop teams of SHE & Facilities professionals, ensuring optimal deployment of resources and alignment with SHE & Facilities Function standards to meet evolving business needs. You are going to drive the development and implementation of innovative SHE strategies and governance programs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and best practice sharing across the organisation You will be collaborating with key stakeholders, including departmental Line Managers, to integrate SHE considerations into business processes and strategic decision-making You will conduct impartial SHE assurance activities to evaluate compliance with legal requirements, BAE Systems Operational Framework, and SHE management system standards You are going to support the Sites, Facilities, and Infrastructure strategy by overseeing maintenance, cleaning, security, and space management, ensuring alignment with strategic business requirements You will provide technical expertise for site infrastructure and maintenance services, identifying and resolving complex issues to enhance operational efficiency Your skills and experiences: Essential: The role requires post-qualification experience in SHE processes, with at least one of the following Level 5 (or higher) qualifications: NEBOSH Diploma, Level 5 NVQ, NCRQ Diploma, Environmental Management Diploma, or relevant equivalent qualifications Comprehensive SHE & Facilities Knowledge: A strong technical understanding of contemporary safety, health, and environmental management standards, with the ability to apply internal and external best practices Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders, regulators, and suppliers, to drive SHE & Facilities initiatives Problem Solving & Decision Making: Analytical skills to resolve complex issues in a dynamic environment, demonstrating sound commercial awareness and the ability to adapt to evolving situations SHE System Implementation: Experience deploying and managing SHE & Facilities management systems across various operations, with an understanding of multi-cultural or international business environments Leadership & Team Management: Experience managing diverse teams and projects, with the ability to lead SHE & Facilities programs while balancing competing priorities and timelines Communication & Negotiation: Strong verbal and written communication skills to negotiate and influence decisions at both strategic and operational levels, with sensitivity to diverse audiences Desirable: Project Management: Experience managing complex SHE & Facilities projects within budget and time constraints, with a focus on delivering continuous improvements Coaching & Training: Ability to coach and influence others on considerations into business decision-making processes Recognised Facilities qualification (IWFM) Benefits: You’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
