The role has been created to further the mission of The Salvation Army in Sutton and the surrounding Borough, its spiritual and community programme by ensuring it is motivated by the example of Jesus, and that The Salvation Army in Sutton continues to provide safe spaces where all people are loved, nurtured, encouraged, and supported to become the people God wants them to be. Key Responsibilities: Be accountable for the effective management of the church finances in line with both The Salvation Army and statutory requirements to ensure the careful stewardship of resources. Be accountable for all people related activities of your direct reports including recruitment, performance management, and learning and development in line with The Salvation Army policies and procedures. Be responsible for managing an effective volunteer programme to ensure that all programmes and other relevant activities are appropriately resourced. Be accountable for the management of any contracts with third party providers to ensure that services are delivered as required The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: A strong, vibrant Christian faith Excellent interpersonal skills A passion to support people The ability to maintain efficient record-keeping systems The ability to work efficiently as part of a team Integrity and confidentiality This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army, actively involved in your own Church.
