An opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to join our Smart Infrastructure team to deliver structured cabling and related technology projects onsite at Heathrow Airport. Candidates who have been exposed to writing RAMS, submitting ATP (Approval to proceed) permits, or similar within a corporate environment, and possess Copper and Fibre experience, need to fit into a small niche team that delivers various projects across the airport (from a dual outlet to refreshing search areas, decommissioning existing lanes, and refreshing the area with new, working under Main contractor rules).
Key Accountabilities
* To deliver site-based project activities, to agreed cost targets in accordance with company objectives and standards, whilst ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
* To support the onsite Project Management team in maximizing the revenue from contracts through scope growth and variation orders.
* To ensure that the projects are delivered in accordance with company and customer processes, procedures, and statutory obligations.
* To ensure provision of timely resource and cost prediction, working closely with resource managers and central procurement as appropriate.
* To generate required Risk Assessments and Method Statements to the required standards.
* Submission and coordination of required permits to enable works to be delivered within the required timeframes.
* To ensure provision of professional project planning throughout the project lifecycle.
* To ensure provision of timely and accurate internal and customer project reporting.
* To request and order required materials for each project in a timely manner.
* To operate at all times with regard to the Health & Safety of employees and third parties, ensuring consistency with company and statutory obligations.
* To professionally represent the company at all times, protecting the company assets and reputation.
* To diligently participate in any training that the company may reasonably ask the incumbent to undergo, to achieve accreditations and qualifications that are deemed essential for the fulfilment of duties.
* To perform any other tasks as may be requested by the jobholder’s line manager.
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in the structured cabling industry.
* Demonstrate some experience of Project Management controls, including initiation, change management, risk management, project plans, and the principles and practicalities of running projects.
* Be familiar with industry standard testers and testing procedures.
* Excellent technical understanding of structured cabling design and technologies.
* Knowledge required to manage a safe construction site, SMSTS qualification or equivalent.
* Valid ECS health & safety card.
