Job summary George Earle is a 28 bedded ward treating adults with acute stroke and general medical conditions of the older person. You will help to provide a high standard of care to all our patients. You will be an important part of a multi-disciplinary team working together to maximise recovery, potential and comfort for our patients. The team consists of medical and nursing staff, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Discharge Coordinator and Speech and Language therapists. The team is further supported with a ward housekeeper, ward clerk and the complex discharge team. You will be a vital part and as such be supported with learning and encouraged to put forward your suggestions. You will be actively involved in risk assessment and care delivery under registrant supervision. Main duties of the job To work clinically to ensure the safety and quality of care given to your designated group of patients under supervision To undertake, but not restricted to the following, Cannulation and Venepuncture, Catheter Care, Completing vital signs, wound care and ECG recording. Assist in the reception and admission of patients Follow the individual care plan of each patient in personal hygiene, prevention of pressure sores, continence and elimination. Assist to rehabilitate patients, working with physio and occupational therapist Support patients with feeding according to their dietary plan, and maintain food and fluid charts as required. Complete nutritional assessments on admission and as required throughout admission. Use equipment competently and safely, attending and following mandatory training guidance.
