Paediatric Clinical Fellowship - March 2025 - September 2025
We are excited to announce Junior Clinical Fellow Posts in Paediatrics at The Royal London Hospital.
The successful candidate will have the following Paediatric Subspecialty choices:
1. Paediatric Respiratory Medicine with General Paediatrics
2. Paediatric Surgery with General Paediatrics
3. Paediatric Neurology with General Paediatrics
4. Paediatric Haemato-oncology with General Paediatrics
5. Paediatric Endocrinology with General Paediatrics
6. Community Paediatrics at Mile End Hospital with on-calls at Royal London Hospital
The Junior fellow jobs have come up to cover training post vacancies as a result of Progress Plus with the loss of ST3 posts along with trainees going on OOP/LTFT.
The posts will be for a period of 6 months with a further extension depending upon clinical performance.

Who is the Junior fellowship suitable for?
1. Paediatric Trainees who want to further sub-specialty experience
2. Foundation trainees - FY3 equivalent who are keen to pursue a career in Paediatrics
3. Trainees who are out of programme and keen to further their paediatric sub-specialty experience before applying for the sub-specialty GRID
4. Overseas paediatric trainees
Why should you apply here?
1. The Royal London is one of the busiest paediatric units in the UK. We already have GRID trainees for Paediatric A&E, Paediatric Gastroenterology, Paediatric Respiratory Medicine, Paediatric Allergy Medicine, and Paediatric Endocrinology with SPIN trainees in Paediatric Neurology.
2. A vast amount of paediatric research and academic activity is done here, with teams actively participating in numerous clinical trials. Fellows will be encouraged to participate in ongoing trials as part of the post.
3. We have a robust teaching programme (please see the detailed programme at the end of the advert) and will encourage all paediatric fellows to actively participate in the teaching sessions and also to deliver teaching.
4. All undergraduates from QMUL (Queen Mary's University London) are attached to Royal London Hospital, and there will be ample opportunities to mentor and teach them.
5. All fellows will be assigned a QI project/Audit to participate in along with participation in Clinical Governance and management meetings.

Job responsibilities
Work pattern would involve working with the paediatric subspecialty during the daytime. On-calls would involve covering general and specialty paediatrics, including a combination of long days and night shifts. All shifts are EWTD and New deal contract compliant.
Full GMC registration is absolutely essential; Paediatric Experience in the UK is desirable.
