The CCTV Control Room Operative will work as part of the control room team, undertaking day-to-day monitoring and delivery of security services within the control room, supporting the security operation at the centre. The operative will ensure exemplary standards of security and customer service are provided to the client and visitors to the site at all times. This role represents the public face of the security team and requires professionalism at all times; a can-do attitude is essential in this highly influential position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Be part of a team in a roster pattern.
2. Ensure compliance with all internal procedures, site processes, and external bodies including enforcement agencies and auditory bodies.
3. Respond timely to all security issues and events.
4. Maintain professionalism, courtesy, and helpfulness while carrying out duties to the highest levels.
5. Ensure exemplary standards in personal grooming, strictly adhering to the site uniform requirements.
6. Manage all incidents in accordance with site policies and procedures.
7. Liaise with the Duty Control Manager, proactively reacting to incidents and ensuring colleagues are fully briefed and supported at all times.
8. Efficiently and effectively deal with emergencies including fire and bomb scares, ensuring the onsite team and client are fully informed.
9. Understand human behavior, monitor and surveil suspect individuals, logging and reporting incidents in line with site/company policies.
10. Maintain vigilance and manage unauthorized access by banned persons.
11. Assist third-party contractors/visitors ensuring adherence to all site procedures/policies.
12. Be fully conversant with operational functions including access control, CCTV, detection, and alarm systems, ensuring effective monitoring and reporting functions are maintained.
13. Continuously monitor site radio systems adhering to correct radio procedures.
14. Diligently manage and maintain site records/reference materials including Health & Safety records, Incident Forms, and the site occurrence book.
15. Provide regular liaison and timely feedback to the management team on all aspects of service delivery, implementing effective solutions and corrective actions to enhance the service.
16. Report any event that may be detrimental to the fulfillment of security provisions on site to the Duty Control Manager/Security Operations Manager.
17. Support the Duty Control Manager with any internal/external audits in line with company policies and procedures.
18. Act as the first point of contact for security function-related queries, resolving complex queries using experience and knowledge, referring any complaints regarding security practices to the security management team or centre management.
19. Ensure the Continuous Improvement Process is integral to service delivery, adding value to both the business and our client.
20. Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
21. Ensure a timely response to all security issues and events.
22. Control access to the centre’s service yards, monitoring all deliveries.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Successful track record of delivering security solutions to an internal client base.
2. CCTV SIA Licence.
3. Experience in a customer-focused environment.
4. First aid qualified or willing to work towards qualification.
5. Professional or further qualification in Security.
6. Experience in control room monitoring.
