Our client, a well-established O&G Operator, is seeking a Project Engineer - Rig Return to Service. Based in Aberdeen, the role is on an initial 12-month contract. Agency Worker / PAYE contract.
Previous experience in rig reactivation is essential.

ROLE
Responsible for development and execution of work scopes, management of technical queries, management of change, and supervision of contractors for delivery of technical documents, equipment overhaul, and offshore construction/commissioning.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Drive safety culture within project team onshore and offshore.
2. Ensure compilation of work scopes and work specifications.
3. Input into the review and monitoring of delivery programmes and cost estimates.
4. Input into the preparation of project control documents and processes and their upkeep.
5. Provision of support to contractors, operations, and construction teams.
6. Ensure execution of work and deliverables are compliant with project requirements.
7. Input and review of vendor planning and offshore scopes ensuring compliance with company planning process.
8. Sourcing information for delivery to external parties.
9. Deputise for Project Lead.
10. Occasional offshore trips required to monitor/plan progress and oversee key tasks.
11. Represent the project at weekly operational planning meetings.
12. Work with key vendors to develop pre-commissioning and commissioning plans.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications/Training
1. Degree in engineering discipline.
2. Preferred: Project management qualifications e.g., APM, PMI, PRINCE2.
3. Current Offshore Survival Certificate.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills
1. Experience in completions management systems for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities (Orbit System or equivalent knowledge).
2. Project engineering experience (or similar such as package management).
3. Highly effective relationship builder at all levels, internally and externally.
4. Excellent communication skills (verbal, interpersonal, written, and presentation).
5. Strong initiative and orientation towards focused delivery.
6. Experience of applying risk and change management processes.
7. Past exposure to multi-discipline work.
Preferred
1. Previous experience in drilling system overhaul, reactivation, or operation.
2. Knowledge of project delivery framework for decision making and assurance.
3. Knowledge and experience of financial control, cost estimating, and planning.
4. Design engineering awareness and good understanding of codes, standards, risk-based decision making, quality assurance, and compliance.
Additional Skills/Requirements
Collaborative and flexible approach. Good understanding of project delivery processes and when and how to apply them.
