As a member of the Field Service Team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support and customer service to all customers as well as attending customers sites to perform proactive maintenance, repairs and commissioning of our products across the South.The team is made up as follows: Head of Customer Experience FSE Manager Service Engineers Main Responsibilities: Servicing, calibrating and repairing gas detection equipment to the relevant standards. Ensure all serviced products are left fully operational and tested – demonstrated to the site responsible person (recorded as such on-service paperwork). Support other team members on jobs that require multiple engineers. Provide customer ‘user training’ when required. Work closely with the Service Admin team making sure jobs are scheduled efficiently and meeting customers’ requirements. Ensure service reports are completed accurately and submit them for invoicing on time. Complete RAM’s and POWRA’s when required. Responsible for and accountable for the van stock holding and calibration gas holding, ensuring that it is appropriate for the customer base in your region, and that ‘life critical’ components are cycled regularly to ensure we can offer a first-time fix where possible. Ensure all personal PPE is maintained within inspection expiry dates, all service clothing is clean and respectable at the start of the day, and all service equipment is ‘up to date’ and operational. Build strong relationships with Area Sales Managers, providing customer insight to support sales growth. Your skills & experience Previous experience with fire/burglar alarms or other similar electronic devices. Previous Field Service Engineering experience would be an advantage, but not necessary. Instrument equipment service, troubleshoot/repair, commissioning and/or installation experience. Excellent customer communication skills in both writing and verbal. HNC / HND in an electrical/electronic field or Equivalent understanding from work experience. Working knowledge of control panel assembly and components. PLC knowledge would be helpful but not a requirement. Understanding of Health and Safety requirements for the role. Knowledge of RAM’s & POWRA’s. Full driving license.
