Are you able to support Women and Families throughout the Caerphilly Borough? Do you have experience supporting victims of domestic violence and abuse? We are working with an amazing charity, with a Peripatetic Support Worker role in Caerphilly. You will travel between projects, to provide the support needed for victims to move forward. What will you get? This will start as a temporary role, with scope to become permanent. Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5pm 35 hours per week No on-call while working as a temp worker, but will become part of the on-call rota if made permanent Salary of £23,945 Work with one of the best known housing and support focused charities in Wales 25 days holiday, rising to 32 over time. What will you do? Supporting families across Caerphilly who are affected by domestic abuse and struggling to maintain their tenancies as a result. Supporting families accessing crisis refuge accommodation. Working with the Project's manager to identify where the hours are focused each week due to their peripatetic nature. Undertake assessments of need in accordance with the support assessment procedure and as directed by the Project's Manager. Undertake risk assessments and risk management plans, including Safe lives DASH risk indicator and safety planning. Deliver support and assistance to each family. Work with families to explore safe return to properties with additional measures and support, sourcing alternative accommodation and ensure that all appropriate actions are taken to prevent unnecessary tenancy breakdown in the community. Ensure that all support notes are completed at the end of each session and that each file contains all relevant information on each Service User. What do we need? Experience of working with families who have experienced/ experiencing domestic abuse. Experience of support and safety planning in partnership with those we support. Experience of working with the police and criminal justice system. Experience of community / accommodation based work. A driver with access to their own vehicle. A DBS on the update service would be a distinct advantage. Someone who is empathetic, understanding, compassionate and non-judgemental.
