Locum Consultant in Radiology
Job overview
Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant Radiologist at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The postholder will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality radiology service within a busy imaging department providing both general and specialist services in diagnostics.
The successful candidate will join a team of 26 other Consultant Radiologists in Bradford and contribute to the diagnostic on-call rota, approximately 1:15.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder is managerially accountable to The Divisional Clinical Director of the Anaesthesia, Diagnostics and Surgical Division. The candidate is professionally accountable to the Medical Director at BTHFT.
There are up to 16 Radiology trainees in Bradford at any one time, and there is a responsibility to undertake appropriate teaching of health care professionals within the Trust. Undergraduate medical students from Leeds have clinical attachments within the Trust and Radiology department.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Diagnostic Reporting: The radiologist is expected to report to the level of FRCR including general cross-sectional CT and MR within the limits of their competency. An expected number of reports per session will be discussed. The radiologist will be expected to contribute to plain film reporting, general diagnostic ultrasound and, when familiar, will be encouraged to cover Duty Radiologist sessions and acute inpatient CT and MR reporting.
MDT: The Radiologist will be encouraged to prepare and attend a subspecialty MDT with the agreement of the specialty team.
Working from home: Provision will be made for some working from home, usually expected to be up to 1 day a week.

Experience
* Evidence of completing an approved period of training in Radiology or equivalent experience
* Experience in management of radiological and imaging modalities
* Evidence of a developing special interest or additional related training e.g., research/education/clinical management
* Understanding of the role of research in the health service and ability to critically analyse research findings
Skills
* Ability to perform the requirements of the post
* Commitment to working cooperatively and collaboratively with other health professionals and organisations
* Ability to work effectively in multi-professional teams
* Excellent organisational skills
Knowledge
* Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
* Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors, and staff

Qualifications
* MBChB or equivalent
* MRCP or FRCS of equivalent to specialty (UK) or equivalent
* Member of the Royal College of Radiologists (UK) or equivalent
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
