At Tata Steel, we are looking for a Mechanical Site Services Engineer to help maintain and improve our essential site infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a varied role that plays a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly. What you will do: In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical systems that support the site’s infrastructure. Your work will cover everything from routine inspections and servicing to diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs. The Mechanical Site Services Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the safety and efficiency of critical assets, including water systems, compressed air, pressure systems, roads, building structures, furnace stacks, and other essential infrastructure. You will also play a crucial role in identifying and implementing improvements to enhance system reliability and performance. Working closely with other maintenance and engineering teams, you will help plan and execute preventative maintenance strategies while ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations. What you will need: We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in site services, infrastructure, or plant maintenance. A time-served apprenticeship and an HNC or equivalent qualification in a mechanical discipline are essential, along with a strong understanding of mechanical systems, pumps, and pipework. Experience working with site utilities such as compressed air, water, and ventilation systems will be highly beneficial. You should have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A proactive approach to maintenance, a commitment to health and safety, and experience working in an industrial or heavy engineering environment will be key to success in this role.
