Health & Safety Officer, part-time, Salary £40-£50K pro-rata (3/4 days a week), on site at Whetstone
Our client is looking for a part-time H&S Officer, must be familiar with risk assessments, environmental, ESG etc.
Quarterly visits to site in Europe.
Responsibilities:
1. Work in conjunction with the Site Leader & Senior Leadership team to maintain and advise on health and safety legislation through leadership activities to promote and improve a positive health and safety culture.
2. Ensure strict adherence to EHS Environmental Health & Safety Workplace Incident Prevention Policy.
3. Provide a safe and healthy working environment for employees and all those working on our behalf, striving for zero workplace incidents.
4. Work to minimize the environmental impact of operations, manage energy usage, and reduce waste and emissions.
5. Comply with applicable EHS laws and regulations and internal policies, procedures, and standards.
6. Assess EHS risks associated with operations, and identify and implement methods to mitigate or avoid those risks.
7. Actively seek the input and participation of employees in the management of EHS to prevent workplace accidents and injuries, including by providing EHS training and recognizing best practices.
8. Integrate EHS priorities into standard business practices and processes.
9. Drive change through continuous improvement, including by setting goals and measuring and communicating performance accordingly.
What You’ll Need:
* Management and leadership of a diverse team and processes through a matrix system.

* Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to facilitate presentations before management groups.
What You’ll Have:
* Degree in a suitable transferable discipline.
* Management or leadership qualification preferred.
* PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification preferred.
* 5 years relevant experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Promote and work with managers in determining safe working practices, ensuring suitable and sufficient risk assessments for operations and activities.
2. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and new legislative requirements, interpreting and advising management on implications.
3. Undertake planned health and safety audits and workplace inspections, providing reports to highlight risk assessments and required actions.
4. Liaise with HR team and Managers regarding specialist risk assessments, training, and support requirements.
5. Ensure accurate and timely administration of the Health and Safety service.
6. Maintain, review, and revise first-aid arrangements, organizing appropriate training as necessary.
7. Coordinate quarterly Site Health and Safety Committee meetings and provide advice and support.
8. Provide support, advice, and facilitate training on health and safety responsibilities.
9. Carry out investigations of incidents and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
10. Ensure alignment with ESG legislation and standards.
11. Maintain and disseminate Employee and Site protection registers as required.
12. Coordinate and administer programmes for Health Surveillance and Screening.
13. Provide direct input in emergencies and assist with Emergency Planning function.
14. Coordinate Safety Advisory Group meetings and provide advice to event organisers.
15. Carry out any other duties within the scope and grading of the post as requested by the line manager or Head of Service.
