Join our Defence Business Development organisation You will become part of our Defence Business Development organisation, an ambitious team dedicated to making a difference for our customers and driving growth across Systematic Defence. Reporting directly to the Vice President for UK, Western Europe and North Africa Business Development, your primary work location will be in Farnborough, Hampshire, with the possibility of working two days a week from home when office commitments allow. The role also involves travel to customer locations across the UK, Western Europe and North Africa. Drive business development activities for our defence solutions As a Business Development Manager, you will drive growth for our SitaWare and IRIS defence solutions across Western Europe and North Africa, with a strong focus on the UK Land market. Your role combines building strategic relationships with key customers, government officials and industry players while gaining deep insights into local markets and future opportunities. Your responsibilities include: achieving sales targets and ensuring that overall business unit targets are achieved formulating and executing business strategies, resulting in comprehensive account plans updated in collaboration with the VP maintaining deep product knowledge and effectively communicating offerings to relevant stakeholders interacting with customers through sales meetings, presentations and negotiations keeping stakeholders informed with regular, structured reporting, and contributing to product development by sharing customer insights and requirements. Experienced military professional with C2 expertise and strong UK defence network To succeed in this role, you must have military experience within the command-and-control area, a knowledge of the defence IT market and a strong network within the UK Armed Forces. Ideally, you have: either served recently as a G2/G3/G5 staff officer in a brigade, division or corps HQ military experience in the technical and/or acquisition fields of command and control, potentially having recently worked at Abbey Wood, Army HQ/Field Army HQ, TacSys or another similar organisation cross-domain military experience, ideally with a focus on the Land domain, and knowledge of joint/multi-domain operations a sound knowledge of the defence IT market and a proven network within the UK Armed Forces at SO2 level or above (or a senior SO3 with C2 expertise). Furthermore, 2–5 years of experience in business development or sales within the defence C2/C4I market would be a plus, as would a technical bachelor’s or master’s degree.
