Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Develop new social media campaigns from the ground up, considering our Members’ needs and their specific industries
* Monitor social channels for trending news, ideas and memes, then capitalise on those trends through our social media accounts
* Perform research into our clients’ industries and provide actionable tips and advice for expanding their reach in the digital space
* Assist with capturing and analysing social media metrics
* Assist with producing marketing analytics reports to inform the CEO and trustees
* Prepare and issue content for the Society’s internal SharePoint site with updates on marketing activities and develop other newsletters as required
* Off-site responsibilities as and when necessary to support marketing campaigns and events
* Collaborate with Product Manager to ensure products gain maximum visibility and reach the widest possible audience’
* Collate responses from Member Surveys and analyse data to identify any trends/associated actions
* Support the Marketing Specialists with any additional marketing content/activities
* Ensure that staff and members’ data is secure, accurate and used correctly in line the Society GDPR policy and standards. Adhere to the Society Financial Crime Policy, the controls and report any internal or external incidents of actual or suspected fraud, money laundering or financial crime, either in accordance with the internal money laundering process (Suspicious Activities Report) or via the Society’s Whistleblowing Policy. Complete and pass an annual dedicated financial crime and bribery prevention computer based training test.

* Develop or interpret briefs for external or internal stakeholders and measure delivery in-line with the specification and agreed timelines
* Plan and coordinate a marketing activity using marketing tactics to acquire and retain one or more customer segments using available resources.
* Contribute to the generation of innovative and creative approaches across video, images, and other formats, both online and offline, to support campaign development.
* Use research/survey software to gather audience insight and/or evaluation to support the project.
* Use copywriting techniques to write persuasive text/copy to meet a communications objective ensuring it is in-line with organisational brand guidelines.
* Build and implement multi-channel campaigns across a variety of platforms, either offline or digital media.
* Proofread marketing copy ensuring it is accurate, persuasive and is on brand.
* Use software to design and create marketing assets to meet the technical specification.
* Contribute to the research of external suppliers to support recommendations and procurement of marketing goods and services.
* Organise offline and digital assets ensuring they are co-ordinated and legally compliant.
* Use a website content management system to publish text, images, and video/animated content.
* Create and maintain spreadsheets to support marketing activities such as project/budget planning and organisation of marketing assets.
* Use technology and software packages to support day to day activities, e.g., stakeholder communications, development of briefs, data analysis, report writing, presentations and project management.
* Identify and use data and technologies to achieve marketing objectives.
* Monitor and amend campaigns to meet budget requirements including time and monetary costs.
* Review campaigns regularly to ensure effectiveness, to optimise the results.
* Measure and evaluate campaign delivery to identify areas for improvement.

Your training plan
Velocity apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, they will provide the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace and to expand future career prospects.
Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their programme.
Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Digital Marketer, with training in how to:
* Analyse and contribute information on the digital environment to inform short and long term digital communications strategies and campaigns
* Recommend and apply effective, secure and appropriate solutions using a wide variety of digital technologies
* Use a variety of digital marketing tools such as: search marketing, search engine optimisation, e mail marketing, web analytics and Pay-Per-Click
* Understand the principles of coding and be able to use this to aid with future digital marketing campaigns
