We have an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor to join the People Directorate at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust.
Our HR team underpins all of our Trust’s activities and enables our staff to perform at their best. We know that to provide the best care to our patients, we must look after our staff. We understand the moments that matter to our staff – every day, every week, every year – and we work hard to ensure all our staff are supported.
The People Directorate includes a team of HR Business Partners and Advisors and four centres of expertise: HR Operations, People Analytics, Employee Relations, and Organisational Development and Culture.
There is an opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic HR Advisor to join the HR Business Partnering team on a fixed term basis while we explore shaping the strategic and operational direction of the organisation.
Postholders must be able and willing to travel to various sites in Hertfordshire.
Main duties of the job
The HR Advisor will be responsible for the provision of operational workforce support to ensure best practice people management within the Hertfordshire Division and also 2 x corporate areas and across the wider People function in CLCH.
You will work with the divisional and Directorate operational teams, Clinical Service Unit managers and staff side representatives to build and maintain positive working relationships; being the “first point of call” for HR queries and for providing the necessary support.
You will be:
* Educated to degree level in HR field or equivalent level of experience through working at a HR advisor level.
* Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) member or working towards.
* Experience of advising managers on complex HR matters, including employee relations.
* Evidence of the ability to manage conflict and sensitive situations, acting with tact and diplomacy.
* Evidence of continued professional development with a focus on employment law.

Person specification
Education/Qualification
* Educated to degree level in HR field or equivalent level of experience through working at a HR advisor level
* Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) member
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Master's degree in relevant subject or equivalent experience
Experience
* Experience of advising managers and staff on HR related matters
* Previous experience in employee relations, with examples of working on complex cases
* Evidence of the ability to manage conflict and sensitive situations, acting with tact and diplomacy.
* Previous experience in implementation of HR strategy, change management, and measurement of performance.
* Significant experience in development and execution of staff training programmes.
* Experience in delivering resourcing strategies/initiatives for a large organisation.
Skills & Knowledge
* Great inter-personal skills, with the ability to facilitate effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Great verbal and written communication skills, with the proven ability to manage and convey complex, sensitive, and potentially contentious information.
* Great understanding of human resources, major organisational developments, and employment legislation.
* Understanding of equality and diversity issues with a demonstrable commitment to equality of opportunity.
* Advanced analytical skills and able to draw conclusions from qualitative and quantitative data.
Key Attributes
* Frequent requirement for concentration when dealing with HR issues, report writing, analysis of information.
* Some exposure to distressing/emotional circumstances when dealing with staff welfare issues.
* Desk-based, with requirement to travel to other sites and engage with staff when necessary.
