The Head of People Operations will be a core member of the People Services Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Working with the Associate Director of People Services, the post holder will focus on the following areas: Oversight for the delivery of the Just and Learning Culture Programme. Oversight for designing and delivering training (policy / people management). Oversight for policy development and governance. Oversight for job matching and evaluation. Champion effective working relationships with Trade Union colleagues Central oversight for casework - allocation of cases, investigations, monitoring timescales for delivery/experience of staff. Industrial relations activities including any national and local issues that need managing. Central oversight for ET cases. Decision-Making Group (DMG) cover for Group Head of People where required, to deal with complex cases. Oversight for governance, risk and audit. Participation in job evaluation panels, Ensure the delivery of the Trusts local People Strategy, in accordance with the national NHS People Plan, Long term workforce plan on behalf of the People Operations team. Be a member of the People Services SLT, leading compassionately and overseeing the provision of efficient and customer focused services to the Trust, delivering high quality outcomes. Managing and motivating People Operations team to achieve objectives and ensure the continuous development, designing and implementing individual and team development plans, supported by appraisal and performance management and annual teamwork plans. Demonstrate and exemplify positive behaviours and attitudes, acting as a role model to others and nurture a culture in keeping with the Trust's values. Champion effective working relationships with Trade Union colleagues and work to embed our values, core behaviours and competencies in the day-to-day work and culture of our workforce. Encouraging this across all case management practice. Strive to ensure that all teams are putting the customer at the fore front of their work. Provide assurance on the People Operations portfolio business to the Associate Director of People Services, POD Committee and external regulators as required.
