The Plastic Surgery Outpatient Team would welcome applications from Senior Health Care Assistants who enjoy working independently and working within a team in being instrumental in providing patient focused care.
This is a part time role of 33.0 hours per week over three days with shift pattern hours of 8am to 5pm to meet the demands of the service.
The successful candidate will join a well-established team and will need to be flexible and adaptable, a good team player with the ability to work well on their own initiative and willing to take on a variety of duties, whilst having the ability to maintain attention to detail.
You will ideally have knowledge or experience within plastic surgery and/or surgical runner skills.

Main duties of the job
Highlighted below are some of the nursing skills needed for a fast paced working area such as Plastic Surgery Outpatients :
* The ability to work both independently and as part of the wider Multidisciplinary Team
* Supporting and assisting your consultant colleagues in the smooth running of their clinics.
* Acting as a chaperone.
* Surgical scrub skills for supporting our outpatient minor surgical and emergency trauma lists. However if you do not have these skills, we will support you in obtaining competencies to support this service.
As part of the Plastic Surgery nursing team you will support our qualified staff in undertaking all aspects of outpatient care including clinics, simple wound dressings and runner in minor operations. If you do not already possess circulating skills additional training will be given to support you in this role.

Essential criteria
* Customer Service relations experience
* Care Certificate
* Numeracy and Literacy Level 2/GCSE Math and English Grade A-C
* At least one years' secondary care experience in Outpatients and/or Theatres
Desirable criteria
* Flexible to service demands
* Evidence of additional training
* Previous health care experience related to Burns and Plastics
* NVQ in Health or Social Care Level 3
