Integrity Education Solutions are supporting the recruitment of a Deputy Headteacher for a new and innovative specialist SEN & SEMH school opening in the Lancashire/Yorkshire area. As Deputy Headteacher (with SENCo and Looked After Children responsibility), you will support the Headteacher in all aspects of school leadership, including curriculum development, safeguarding, quality assurance, and team management. You’ll also act as “Person in Charge” in the Headteacher’s absence and lead day-to-day operations when needed. This independent specialist SEN school, backed by a highly regarded children’s home provider, will cater to pupils aged 11–16 with SEMH needs. As part of a wider mission to raise the standard of care and education for children with complex needs, this is a chance to join the school at its early growth stage and influence its culture and success from the outset. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide strategic leadership alongside the Headteacher to ensure high-quality education and outstanding pupil outcomes * Lead on admissions, transitions, and EHCP annual reviews in collaboration with local authorities * Take responsibility for the effective SEN provision and compliance with the SEND Code of Practice * Be the named contact for Looked After Children and liaise with external professionals and agencies * Oversee safeguarding as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and ensure all protocols align with Keeping Children Safe in Education * Support whole-school curriculum development, staff training, and quality assurance systems * Lead on statutory inspections including Ofsted readiness and Independent School Standards compliance * Play a visible and active role in school life and culture KEY REQUIREMENTS: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) * National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work toward it) * Minimum 2 years of leadership experience within a SEN or similar provision * Proven understanding of SEND legislation and effective classroom practice * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to motivate and lead a diverse staff team * Experience working with Looked After Children (LAC) * Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education BENEFITS OFFERED: * Private medical insurance * NEST pension scheme * Employee Assistance Programme * Blue Light Card discount scheme eligibility * Extensive senior leadership support * Fully funded CPD and leadership development * A supportive and collaborative working culture Salary offered: £45,000 - £50,000 If this role interests you, please contact Kenny Fraser at Integrity Education Solutions.
