The team at NHS Shared Business Services are seeking to add another Category Buyer to their fold. This will be a 9-month fixed term contract to cover a career break (ongoing opportunities for the right candidate). The role will support the Principal Category Manager on various IT and Digital projects and supplier engagements. Assisting with a delegated category portfolio, by responding to customer/supplier requests for support and information. You will develop existing customer relations and work to strengthen relationships with key suppliers.

This position is predominantly home based, but there is an expectation to attend our Salford office once a month and in addition, where business needs are required. The modern Salford office sits in an iconic waterfront location positioned on the historic Manchester Ship Canal.
What you'll be doing:
* Maintains framework agreement compliance in line with category priorities.
* Acts as the first point of contact for all customer and supplier queries coming into the team.
* Supporting the end-to-end tender process ensuring all parties are well informed and supported.
* Engaging with stakeholders at all levels to support and assisting in an efficient and timely manner.
* Supports senior category team to deliver key initiatives and implementation of priorities.
* Manages supplier relationships to ensure contract implementation, pricing validation, sustainability, and service standards across the assigned portfolio.
What you’ll bring:
* Experience of working within a procurement setting.
* Supporting the promotion of strategic aims and policy objectives and ensure client dedication.
* The ability to follow and enforce mandated compliance and governance standards.
* Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
* Proficient with Microsoft office in particular, extracting MI reports from Excel and Power BI.
* Working towards Cips qualification or willing to undertake.
It would be great if you had:
* Public Sector or NHS exposure is desirable.
* Knowledge of UK Public Contracts Regulations (PCR2015) and the New Procurement Act.
* Experience of procuring Digital and IT goods and services.
