Extended Scope Nurse in Womens and Reproductive Health
HRH are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative nurse, with a passion for women's health, to join our growing team. The Extended-Scope Nurse in Women's and Reproductive Health, will support the clinical lead for HRH's Women's Health Hub, with triaging and providing specialist nursing advice to women, with a holistic approach to managing their general and sexual health needs.

Main duties of the job
You will have full NMC unrestricted registration, and a minimum of 2 years' experience as a sexual health nurse, or a nurse with a specialism in an area of women's health.
You will be a team player, as well as being self-motivated, enabling you to take on your own responsibilities. You will have the opportunity to take the lead on allocated projects/service improvement and support the team to implement, monitor and review.
You will be competent in a range of clinical skills, including vaginal speculum examinations and hold the FSRH diploma in contraception (or an equivalent qualification in contraception).
Ideally, you will be skilled in: implant and coil fitting/removal, cervical screening, pessary fitting, menopause advice, and HRT management, although training will be offered.

Job responsibilities
* Act as an autonomous clinician.
* Providing a PCN wide specialist service for women's health from the age of 14 to post-menopause care.
* Manage the women's health hub clinic list of patients by supporting the clinical lead with triage, booking, and signposting of patients.
* To maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct.
* Provide HRT assessment, advice, and treatment.
* Carrying out examination, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a range of vulval skin conditions.
* Assess and manage symptoms and investigations relating to gynaecological, fertility, hormone-related conditions, referring as needed, including 2ww referrals for gynae, urology, breast.
* Provide a full contraceptive service, recognising and managing contraindications in contraception.
* Managing patients on the high-risk drug monitoring list - ensuring women of reproductive age are not at risk of pregnancy.
* Participate in national screening work such as cervical screening.
* Requesting of pathology tests, for example, urine culture, swabs, etc.
* Ensure robust management of results and recall.
* Ensure the effective delivery of related service specifications to include non-exhaustive: IUD, Pessary fitting, and SDI.
* Carry out routine clinical assessments including blood pressure monitoring, mental health screening, and phlebotomy, as appropriate to patient needs.
* To ensure all patients diagnosed with, or at ongoing risk of sexually transmitted infections are appropriately managed in line with local clinical guidelines.
* To undertake sexual health promotion in the clinic to develop and maintain close links with local agencies including C Cards.
* Maintain accurate, confidential, computerised, and patient records of interventions.
* Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective, and remains within boundaries of competence.
* Ensure QOF targets for the organisation are met.
* To work only in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and within the scope of professional practice.
* Communicate effectively with other team members, stakeholders, patients, and carers.
* Attend and participate in any practice meetings when required.
* To participate in clinical audits.
* Ensure statutory and mandatory training is up to date.
* To maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct.
Person Specification
Experience
* Full and unrestricted NMC UK registration.
* Two+ years proven record of working as an autonomous Sexual Health Nurse or Nurse within a specialist area of Women's Health.
* Competent in vaginal speculum examinations.
* FSRH diploma or an equivalent qualification in contraception.
* Ability to use different IT systems.
* Good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work flexibly as part of a team.
* Confident and effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
* The ability to respond flexibly to the demands of the post.
* Show capacity to work alone.
* Be able to work under pressure and have clear systems/strategies in order to prioritise workload.
* Be proactive and able to use own initiative to complete multiple tasks and projects.
* Knowledge of EMIS Web system.
* Previous experience in General Practice.
* IUCD and SDI or willingness to train.
* Pessary fitting or willingness to undergo appropriate training.
* Menopause care and HRT qualification or willingness to train.
* Cervical screening qualification or willingness to train.

£32,341 to £47,867 a year. HRH normally appoint at the bottom of the scale.
