We are seeking a talented graduate to join our dynamic Business Development team to support the writing of winning bids and proposals. This role is ideal for someone with a background/ degree in journalism, marketing, or business who is looking to develop a career in business development and bid writing. Role Purpose: As a Proposal and Bid Writer, you will contribute to the preparation of high-quality proposals and tenders that reflect the business capabilities of Cognition Learning Group. You will be responsible for drafting and editing documents, conducting research, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure our bids effectively communicate our service offerings. This is a key role that spans the entire bid lifecycle, from initial identification of opportunities to final submission, with a focus on driving business growth. Key Responsibilities: Bid and Proposal Writing: Develop clear, compelling, and well-structured written responses to bids and tenders. Communicate the company’s business capability and solutions in an engaging and persuasive manner. Prepare, review, and edit high-quality tender documentation, ensuring consistency and alignment with company strategy and client requirements. Research and Strategy: Conduct research to gather the necessary information to support bid development, including industry insights, competitor analysis, and project details. Work with internal teams to develop winning bid strategies that highlight the company’s value proposition. Contribute to the creation of case studies, staff CVs, and other bid collateral. Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with the business development team to ensure timely submission of bids. Support the preparation and presentation of high-quality bids by ensuring accuracy and completeness of information. Work with subject matter experts across departments to gather technical input and ensure the bids meet technical, financial, and operational requirements. Facilitate and participate in storyboarding sessions to plan and structure bid responses. Process and Documentation Management: Maintain an accurate and organised portfolio of bids and tenders, ensuring timely submission and consistent quality. Manage the process of gathering and organising key documents and information to support business proposals. Manage and update the bid library with standardised content for future use. Continuously review and improve the quality of bids through feedback and lessons learned from previous submissions. Skills and Qualifications: Education: A first-class or upper second-class degree (2:1) in Journalism, Science, Law, or Business, or a related discipline. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. Organisation: Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines. Research: Solid research skills with the ability to gather and analyse information relevant to the bid. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders. Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Proactivity: A proactive attitude with a high degree of initiative, able to manage workload efficiently and independently.
