NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board
NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board (ICB) is a statutory NHS organisation responsible for developing a plan for meeting the health needs of our communities, managing the NHS budget, and arranging for the provision of joined-up health services which improve the lives of people who live and work in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
By collaborating as an integrated care system (ICS), our health and care organisations can tackle complex challenges, including:
1. Improving the health of children and young people
2. Supporting people to stay well and independent
3. Acting sooner to help those with preventable conditions
4. Supporting those with long-term conditions or mental health issues
5. Caring for those with multiple needs as populations age
We are looking to recruit an experienced practitioner to work on behalf of CIOS ICB to undertake a programme of assessments, review individual packages of care and placements for service users with specialist mental health and learning disability issues who are unable to receive their treatment within CIOS. You will be required to provide expert clinical knowledge and opinion to ensure service users are receiving outcome-focused safe and effective treatment of high quality and value for money.
Are you an experienced nurse or AHP with an enquiring agile mind that is looking for a diverse and challenging role? Are you looking to use your clinical experience to improve care to the population? If so, we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will act as the lead specialist for a programme of reviews for all individual packages of care and placements for mental health, learning disability and neurodivergent adult service users who are unable to receive their care within CIOS. The post holder will be required to provide expert clinical knowledge and opinion to ensure service users are receiving outcome-focused safe and effective treatment of high quality and value for money. In addition to the quality and safety of services delivered, the role also prevents or shortens high-cost admissions to out of area hospitals and promotes positive outcomes in line with established strategic intentions.
You will work with the service user and care coordinator to review the person's needs and risks against the service being provided to ensure it provides safe, high-quality person-centred outcomes, addresses identified needs and assessed risks, adheres to NICE clinical and quality guidance, and provides value for money.
As an experienced clinician, you will provide subject matter expertise and advice to non-clinical colleagues as to the clinical appropriateness of the proposed package being requested and support clinical scrutiny and sign off.
The senior reviewer element of the role offers the opportunity for the post holder to expand their clinical knowledge and subject matter expertise to support the CIOS system priority to reduce health inequalities for people with a learning disability or autistic people.
