Play a key role in the Gloucestershire Road Safety Partnership by being a catalyst for change in reducing the number of people who are killed and seriously injured in road traffic collisions.
About The Team & Role:
The role will be hosted by Gloucestershire County Council on behalf of the Gloucestershire Road Safety Partnership (GRSP). You will lead the coordination of partners and activities in the Partnership including the Council, Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue, the Police, National Highways and others, to achieve the goals of reducing the number of people who are killed and seriously injured in the county, by half by 2032 and achieving Vision Zero by 2050.
You will develop and deliver strategic plans for the Partnership and lead innovative and creative campaigns and interventions to reduce road traffic collisions in the county.
Your role will also involve budget management and monitoring programmes. You will provide regular, timely, and accurate reporting and forecasting. You will take the lead in making funding applications to grant bodies including the Department for Transport.
You will drive the work of the Partnership ensuring that the partners work together to apply the Safe System to ensure maximum impact in delivering road safety.
This is a fixed term post for a two-year period.
About You:
We seek a proactive individual with a background in road safety and collaborating with partners and have experience of developing change. You will have strong communication with the ability to inspire.
You will have knowledge and appreciation of the Safe System. You will have excellent skills in problem solving, lateral thinking and encouraging innovation. You will be proficient in programme and budget management. You will have experience in contributing to bidding for funding.
Your political awareness will be crucial in building and managing relationships with and between partners in the Gloucestershire Road Safety Partnership. You will excel in coordination, negotiation skills and maintaining unity.
The work location is flexible and hybrid working applies to the role, but the ability to travel to various locations is essential.
