Job summary This is a leadership post within Psychological Health Services. The role is to lead and develop highly valued psychological services for a broad range of medical and surgical specialties within our acute Trust. The services led by this post are primarily within paediatric care and are for patients and families on care pathways without Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) embedded psychological services. These include paediatric surgical specialties. The role also works with all other PHS Trust-wide Consultant Psychologists to respond safely during periods of staff absence or vacancy. The position involves delegated duties from the Head of Psychological Health Services and service wide leadership. Main duties of the job To lead the delivery and quality improvement of the Trust-wide PHS staff vacancy, W&C divisional multispecialty brief intervention service, and paediatric surgical specialties leading a range of psychosocial professional involvement. To provide leadership, representation and other duties delegated by the Head of Service To lead, coordinate and supervise and disseminate psychological research, service evaluation and audit activity both uni-professionally and in collaboration with other professional groups to the extent covered by this post.
