Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Deputy Ward Manager with evidence of professional development, who is innovative, motivated and enthusiastic with excellent communication and organisational skills.
The dedicated friendly staff offer a wealth of knowledge and experience and are devoted about ‘getting it right’ for the patients during their hospital journey. You will be working within a busy ward environment with the opportunity to further develop your skills and enhance your knowledge.

Main Duties of the Job
To support the Ward Manager to:
* Provide effective clinical leadership and management to lead and motivate the team.
* Promote and monitor quality, safe and effective practice.
* Enhance the patient/client experience.
* Contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s objectives.
The post consists primarily of clinical care delivery and leadership; however, there will be an element of managerial duties as the Deputy Ward Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing the care of patients, managing and supporting staff, and deputising for the Ward Manager.

Person Specification
Training and Qualifications
* Effective Level 1 Registration with NMC.
* Nursing Degree or Diploma.
* ENB 998 (Teaching/Assessing/Mentoring in Clinical Practice) or equivalent qualification (PTLLS/CTLLS etc).
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
Experience
* Experience of managing rehabilitation or long-term conditions in a relevant setting.
* Significant experience of managing staff.
* Experience of mentoring staff.
* Experience of jointly managing and developing teams.
Knowledge and Skills
* Able to assess, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
* Evidence of using evidence-based practice to enhance quality of care.
* Ability to liaise effectively with various disciplines, relatives, patients, and outside agencies.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
* Ability to prioritise and organise patient care management.
Other
* Must be able to meet the transport requirements of the post.
