Identify opportunities for technology innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering department. Collaborate with senior management to define the technical roadmap and prioritize engineering initiatives. Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality software products by overseeing the entire development lifecycle, from concept to deployment. Implement best practices for software development, testing, and deployment. Monitor and report on engineering performance metrics, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Stay abreast of the latest technological advancements and integrate relevant innovations into the engineering processes. Ensure the scalability, security and reliability of the companys software and infrastructure. Implement and enforce engineering standards, processes, and tools to drive efficiency and quality. Maintain a deep understanding of the technology stack the companys uses, including Python, Django, React, Next JS, Ruby on Rails (ROR), Node JS, Laravel, React Native, Flutter, DevOps, AWS, Docker and Kubernetes. Work closely with the companys US clients to improve and optimize their applications, ensuring they meet their business requirements and performance standards. Communicate engineering plans, progress, and challenges to stakeholders and the executive team. Facilitate effective collaboration between engineering teams and other departments. Requirements: Bachelors degree in Information Technology; Computer Science, Software Engineering or related or foreign equivalent plus 24 months of experience in the job offered and 24 months of experience in technology stack including Django, Laravel, Flutter, DevOps and Docker. Knowledge of the structure and content of Swahili language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar is required, and is a business necessity as the position requires communicating with Swahili-speaking clients for ensure clear and effective collaboration within the companys client base that are based in Kenya and in the United States who only speak Swahili. Position entails presenting information providing onsite support and open communications and explaining available services to prospective and current Kenya clients, among others.
