Are you looking for the opportunity to shape how we deliver our On Road and Maintenance and Response services in the South West?
As Head of Service Delivery, you'll guide a range of teams (both internal and third-party) who are invaluable to the day-to-day operation and safety of the region's roads network, including our Traffic Officer Service, Regional Control Centre and Maintenance and Response Teams.
You'll be at the heart of our operational delivery, so you'll need to be open to regular travel across the region to provide effective leadership and support to our teams on the ground. The health, safety and wellbeing of our people in all aspects of service planning and delivery will be your top priority.
Being an integral part of our regional leadership team, you'll also be dedicated to enhancing and improving the safety and experience of customers on a highly diverse part of our network, with opportunities to help shape our strategic imperatives and vision.
The successful candidate will be subject to a Security Clearance.
Specifically, you'll be accountable for:
* Leading and embedding best practice service delivery, through continuous improvements to network monitoring and coordination of response services.
* Delivery of regional maintenance work plans to agreed outcomes, proactively managing impact of any changes, disruptions and amendments to service delivery.
* Planning and control of regional network occupancy, ensuring works scheduling and maintenance and response activities are delivered with minimal impact on customers, optimising network availability.
* Ensuring resilience and service continuity through effective forward planning and management of events, weather services and incident response.
* Effective monitoring of supplier service delivery and performance and promptly resolving deviations, risks and issues to minimise service disruption.
About you.
* Demonstrable breadth and depth of operational service delivery management expertise.
* Proven maintenance and asset management decision making ability.
* Collaborative, with the ability to engage and inspire specialised teams across boundaries.
* Excellent stakeholder and contractor management skills.
* Good commercial awareness; able to develop and managing annual financial plans, budgets and service level contracts to agreed outcomes.
* Ability to apply knowledge of relevant operational standards, requirements and guidance (e.g. CDM, health and safety regulations).

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed in accordance with our established pay policy.
