The Rheumatology service cross bay has a vacancy for a 24 hours per week Clinical Nurse Specialist post.
UHMBT is situated on the southern edge of the Lake District with convenient links to the major cities in the north of England.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will support the Rheumatology service.
You will have at least 12 months experience at AFC Band 6 (or equivalent) and proven leadership and management experience.
This role will involve nurse-led clinics, and there will be opportunities for professional development such as obtaining the non-medical prescribing qualification.
You will be responsible for running your own nurse-led clinic, either face-to-face or remotely. You will triage concerns from patients/other medical professionals via the Rheumatology answer phone or emails.
This vacancy is to work predominantly at FGH; however, travel to WGH will be expected as required.
About Us
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case, and inpatient surgery.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Minimum 1 year at Band 6
* 1st level registered nurse
* Post-registration clinical course or qualification in specialist area that has enhanced clinical practice
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Previous experience within the Rheumatology service
* Non-medical prescriber
