Job Title: Mould Maintenance Technician
Hours / Shift: 40.25 hours (average)
Hours of work vary between 23 and 57.5 hours per week, averaging 40.25 hours per week over a 14 day period:
1. Week 1: Monday - Tuesday 07:00 - 19:00; Friday - Sunday 19:00 - 07:00
2. Week 2: Wednesday - Thursday 07:00 - 19:00
3. Week 3: Monday - Tuesday 19:00 - 07:00; Friday - Sunday 07:00 - 19:00
4. Week 4: Wednesday - Thursday 19:00 - 07:00
Location: Banbury
Main purpose of job: To act as a team member providing a multi-skilled technical service to ensure the effective and efficient running of the plant.
Scope of job:
Reporting to: Mould Maintenance Manager / Mould Maintenance Team Leader
Direct Reports: 0
Responsible for: Safety, Quality, Timing, Cost, Motivation
Main duties:
1. React to break-downs and quality issues using diagnostic skills to identify and rectify problems quickly and effectively.
2. Programme and monitor the running of plant equipment to maximise through-put in line with agreed quality standards.
3. Undertake planned maintenance in line with the 'TPM' process.
4. Work as a member of the shift team, maximising efforts to meet priorities and having a longer-term view to continuous improvement.
5. Input into manufacturing facilities (layouts, services etc.).
6. Always follow environmental, health & safety policies and procedures and report any issues.
7. Take appropriate escalation actions.
8. Provide engineering and technical services to improve the performance of the plant.
9. Knowledge of quality standards.
10. To project a professional image of the company to customers/visitors.
11. To use the escalation procedure for any issues/concerns eg. Quality/downtime.
Safety, Environmental Responsibilities:
1. Comply with Health & Safety and Environmental Policies.
2. Ensure compliance with Environmental & Health & Safety standards in line with current certification.
3. Report accidents and near misses.
4. Comply with the Lock out Tag out Procedure (where applicable).
5. Adhere to 5S processes and procedures.
Quality:
1. Raise quality care points.
2. Liaise with other departments regarding quality concerns.
3. Participate in quality checks and controls.
4. Report repeat quality issues.
Timing:
1. Ensure all quality decisions are made considering risk to supply and escalate as required.
2. Report any issues or concerns to your line manager.
Cost:
1. Participate in continuous improvement projects to improve departmental performance on safety, uptime, availability, maintenance, equipment modifications, plant, error proofing, technical systems and processes and cost down opportunities.
2. Use consumables responsibly.
Motivation:

Specific Skills & Experience:
1. Formal apprenticeship within either an electrical, mechanical or hydraulic qualification.
2. Will be fully trained with process and machine systems.
3. Strong diagnostic skills, good numeracy and communication (both oral and written) skills.
4. Experience within a large injection moulding shop would be desirable.
5. Robotic experience - Kuka, ABB robots desirable.
6. Computer literate with good excel and access database skills.
7. Good analytical skills.
Candidates must be able to work using their own initiative, and be able to liaise with other functions and departments at all levels within the company. Manual dexterity, literacy and numeracy are required. Ability to identify different colours of products (i.e. Ishihara).
