Job Description
As a Graduate Site Manager, you will support the planning, control, and implementation of multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations. Working under the mentorship of an experienced Site Manager, you will develop the necessary skills and experience to take on increasing responsibility over time. You will liaise with clients, subcontractors, and local authorities in a professional manner on behalf of Keltbray.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Assist in providing safe working conditions for all site operatives and visitors by ensuring compliance with safe systems of work.
2. Support the selection and procurement of sub-contractors and monitor procurement processes for materials and resources.
3. Assist in planning and identifying potential site issues, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to the project programme.
4. Maintain accurate site records, including variations affecting progress and costs, and provide updates to the site team.
5. Support budget management by tracking expenditure and identifying efficiencies.
6. Conduct inspections under supervision to ensure compliance with company management systems and quality standards.
7. Work closely with site teams to coordinate trades and ensure efficient site operations.
8. Engage in on-the-job training and mentoring opportunities to enhance professional development.
9. Attend project meetings (main contractor, client, internal) such as progress and lookahead meetings, logistics, and Daily Activity Briefing Sessions (DABS) where required.
10. The post holder must be committed to the following: Keltbray Health and Safety Policy, Quality Policy and Environmental Policy. They must be aware of their contribution to Keltbray Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures, including the requirement to monitor safety and environmental performance and compliance with the systems established to assist in maintaining high health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
11. Ensure the activities undertaken are in compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental legal requirements and contractual requirements.
Additional Specifics
1. Attend and contribute to internal and sub-contractor meetings, recording minutes where necessary.
2. Support the implementation and monitoring of site welfare facilities.
3. Ensure all operatives undergo safety inductions and maintain relevant records.
4. Develop relationships with neighbours and local authorities to mitigate site impacts.
5. Recognise training needs for site staff and actively engage in personal learning.
6. Maintain good site housekeeping and uphold high professional standards.
7. Assist in monitoring subcontractor performance and quality control.
8. Act as a point of contact on-site, supporting visitors and team members as required.
9. Participate in tracking project progress and ensuring work aligns with schedules.

Knowledge
Essential
1. Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (or working towards completion).
2. Understanding of health and safety principles, with a willingness to obtain SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification.
3. Strong interest in site management and construction projects.
Desirable
1. Work experience or industrial placement in construction.
2. Familiarity with site operations and construction methodology.
3. Experience of working with subcontractors or project teams.
