The Sirona Adult Learning Disability Health Service (ALDHS) is a centre of excellence for specialist learning disability health needs. You would be part of a multidisciplinary team who enable our service users to access health services through direct care, liaison with other services and offering support and training on how to work with people who have a learning disability and how to make reasonable adjustments. The service prides itself on delivering high quality support to service users with a variety of physical and mental health issues alongside their Learning Disability. All staff are required to use a range of communication and listening skills to work effectively with our service users.
We are seeking an entry level music therapist to join our Arts Therapies Team. Applications from newly qualified music therapists are welcome. We are a dedicated and welcoming team of Art, Drama and Music Therapists, working across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) within the ALDHS, and providing a service to children and young people with learning disabilities in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. We are looking for an individual who is committed and passionate about improving the lives of people with learning disabilities.
Main duties of the job
Within ALDHS, music therapists provide specialist individual and group interventions to individuals and their families and support networks, including assessment and formulation. Music therapists also provide specialist advice and consultation to other professionals as well as carry out wider psychological tasks and responsibilities as members of the Mental Health and Behaviour ALDHS Team. They also contribute to MDT meetings and other core tasks and roles within the wider ALDHS.

Person Specification
Professional Registrations / Qualifications
* Qualified Music Therapist to MA or equivalent
* HCPC registered
Professional experience
* Experience of working therapeutically with people presenting with a wide range of psychological problems.
* Experience of working within multi-disciplinary teams. Able to work effectively, with a wide range of professionals, as part of a team.
* Experience / knowledge of working with people with learning disabilities.
* Experience / knowledge of working with trauma.
* Experience / knowledge of working with families and carers.
