Job summary
The purpose of this role is to undertake allocated clinical and administrative tasks identified by caseload managers to deliver holistic nursing care to enable children with non-malignant life threatening/ life limiting conditions to be cared for in the environment of their choice.
You will assist with the training and development of parents, carers and others to enable children to be cared for in a variety of settings.
You will support the nursing needs where appropriate to those children with life-limiting and life threatening conditions with support from band 6/ band 7 nurse.
You will ensure that care is delivered to agreed standards and within the policy framework of Sirona: care and health and NMC guidelines.
Main duties of the job

To be responsible for maintaining and updating own clinical competence and skills
To promote a family centred approach to care and work towards empowerment of the child's family to take a lead in their child's care
To develop and maintain knowledge of the conditions that affect the children on the Lifetime caseload
To liaise with the band 6 nurses when there are changes in the child/family's needs
To work as part of the Lifetime core nursing team to provide clinical advice and support to the multi-agency teams
