Who we need
A fresh exciting opportunity has arisen for a Catering Assistant to join our busy curriculum Catering Team here at the City Hub campus in Nottingham.
As part of this role, you will work alongside a dynamic Catering and Hospitality team, supporting in the delivery of a fast paced, curriculum area. We are looking for people committed to providing excellent standards of health and safety, maintaining skills kitchens to high standards of cleanliness for both colleagues and students and be a strong team player.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Work to a prepared daily cleaning schedule to the required standards.
2. Undertake daily recording and temperature monitoring of fridges and freezers in line with HACCP Food Safety procedures.
3. Work flexibly and contribute to the professional and efficient running of the kitchens.
4. Assist with other kitchen food preparation and safe storage/food packaging duties as required.
What you’ll bring
A key focus of this role will be maintaining and driving high standards of kitchen maintenance linked to health and safety requirements, ensuring all practical skills kitchens are equipped with the correct resources, adding and enhancing the student and colleague experience.
You will bring energy, and a professionalism aligned with an experienced team of lecturers and catering assistants and be able to support the operations supervisor in the timely ordering of necessary cleaning items and resources.
Essential skills and experience include:
1. Ability to set up, clear down practical kitchen areas demonstrating good organisational skills, working to set standards.
2. Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
3. Experience of working successfully in a catering environment.
4. Have basic knowledge/understanding of health, safety and hygiene regulations and practices.
5. Possession of a food safety certificate or a willingness to undertake training in food safety.
