Job Role: Site Manager (SR163)
Duration: 18 months, start March 2025
Location: Kings Lynn, UK
Determination: Outside IR35
Day rate: £500 - £500 per day outside IR35.
Expenses: Inclusive of travel and accommodation to base location.
Job description:
* In charge of all site operations including directing and organizing site activities to ensure planned work is delivered safely and on time; monitoring performance to meet recognized standards of productivity, quality, and compliance with health and safety provisions.
* Provide operational leadership and guidance for project delivery teams and support the Field Operations Manager with the implementation of procedures and policies.
* Complete necessary internal reporting to a high standard and interface with external parties such as clients, project stakeholders, sub-consultants, enforcement agencies, local planning authorities, and statutory bodies.
* Experienced in delivering all aspects of substation works including civil, M&E, and fencing works.
* Understand the Company Health & Safety and Environmental (SHE) Policies and ensure requirements are implemented.
* Manage compliance with CDM regulations on site.
* Lead and motivate a team including Sub-Contractors to deliver all aspects of planning and operations.
* Deliver planned work safely and on time, adhering to client and Burns & McDonnell requirements.
* Produce rosters for staff under management.
* Assist in the recruitment of suitably competent staff.
* Undertake detailed site inspections.
* Perform fluidity tasks to ensure timely execution of work.
* Liaise with customers, clients, local authorities, and other interested parties regarding works.
* Provide supervision, assessment, and coaching to ensure sub-contractors meet production levels.
* Ensure quality checks are completed in line with contract specifications.
* Regularly undertake Tool Box Talks, Briefings, and other communications.
* Maintain levels of skill and knowledge to perform the job effectively.
* Comply with the relevant Company HSQE and welfare policy provisions.
* Support clients to ensure all agreed KPIs are met or exceeded.
* Ensure operative records are accurate and up to date each week.
* Provide operational and functional management advice on the company's Environmental policies.
* Assist and/or manage the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses.
* Promote best practices and ensure feedback into the business.
* Set standards and lead by example in health, safety, quality & environmental management.
* Maintain accurate records of site resources, materials, and plant.
* Produce reports or provide information in a timely manner.
* Attend and cascade briefings as directed.
* Perform On Call duties as directed.
Qualifications:
* Full UK driving licence.
* National Grid Competent Person NSI 6 & 8 Full.
* Previous TP137 or SR163 appointment (to be assessed by Burns & McDonnell).
* IOSHH Managing Safely or SMSTS.
* IOSH environmental or equivalent.
* HSG47.
* First Aid (Full 3 day).
* Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor.
* Demonstrable knowledge or training of the management of Impressed Voltages.
* HNC/HND in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience/training.
* NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate (Desirable).
* Varied knowledge of substation equipment from various OEMs.
