What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a teacher with the ability to raise standards and levels of achievement at KS3/4 in D&T. Preferably with a background in Textiles. We will appoint someone who is enthusiastic and keen to get involved in the life of our school and improve outcomes for our students.
• Qualified Teacher Status
• Degree in Design Technology in a related subject
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum in Design Technology
• Experience of successfully teaching Design and Technology with a focus on the textiles specialist area at KS3 and 4 and to GCSE
• Proven record of raising standards of attainment and Achievement
• Experience of making accurate and productive use of Assessment
• Competently using ICT to support teaching and wider professional activities
• Good interpersonal skills: ability to work constructively with colleagues, students and parents
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Resilience and ability to work under pressure
• Ability to communicate concisely to a variety of audiences
• A commitment to the Faculty and support for the school ethos
• Good classroom management skills
• Ability to motivate students of all abilities
• Work flexibly as the workload demands
• Excellent attendance record (*)
