Job summary
We are looking for a confident Clinical Specialist Nurse (CSN) to work within the Mental Health Services for Older People North East Community Mental Health Team based in York.
The CSN is the professional lead for nurses in the team, leading on professional development and ensuring the delivery of robust evidence based practice.
You would work with the leadership team to establish systems and to developclinical practice. Applicants should be a registered nurse with excellent knowledge of mental health services from across the community system, including primary care, specialist services, local authority & the voluntary and community sector.
This is an extremely supportive team with a positive outlook who regularly engage in wellbeing and team building activities both in and out of the work environment.
Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will provide specialist advice, guidance, training, therapeutic support, and consultation as part of the multidisciplinary community mental health team.
You will contribute to formulation of a services users need and creating evidence-based plans. Consultation to team colleagues and external health and care professionals and contributing to service development, evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD
2. Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving.
3. Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving
4. Postgraduate diploma in a subject relevant to the area Or be willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years
5. And Within the first year of being in post hold a recognised qualification in a governed therapy/advanced clinical qualification Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP (Independent Prescriber)
6. And Equivalent clinical experience to that of a Post Grad Diploma/master's level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area with significant experience (see below under experience), together with evidence of relevant CPD

7. Extensive knowledge of current issues relating to health needs of patients in the field of practice, regionally and nationally
8. Understanding and working knowledge of the legal framework and statutory obligations under the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act
