Job Description
Software Engineer – Swansea or London
A job for a Software Engineer who can code, debug, and test to production level.
This isn’t just about writing code. It’s about owning an entire system, ensuring it runs smoothly in a real-world clinical environment.
Some software roles have you fixing small bugs. Others keep you locked into a narrow function, working on just one piece of the puzzle.
This isn’t one of those roles.
We need an experienced Software Engineer to take full ownership of a critical clinical trial management system, leading the full transformation of a Trial Management Suite (TMS) from Visual Basic to C#. You’ll be responsible for seamless performance, integrating hardware devices, developing proprietary image analysis tools, and ensuring the software meets production-level standards.
This is a highly autonomous role, perfect for someone who thrives on solving complex problems and taking projects from concept to deployment.
Why Join?
Imagine stepping into a role where your software engineering expertise drives the advancement of clinically proven, life-changing technologies.
Indo Search is representing Cyden on an exclusive basis for this hire.
Cyden, a pioneer in beauty tech and dermatology research, is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join their innovative team. With over 40 years of clinical expertise and world-class, in-house trials, they are committed to empowering people to feel proud and confident in their skin.
Over the last two years, Cyden has grown by 30%, expanded into a state-of-the-art London office, and made bold moves into the skin wellness space. As a Software Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of this exciting evolution, supporting groundbreaking clinical trials for their innovative at-home beauty and wellness devices.
Cyden doesn’t just innovate, they revolutionise. Their vision is to create a world where everyone feels proud and empowered in their own skin, backed by clinically proven, honest solutions.
As a global leader in high-quality hair removal and skincare, Cyden combines fast-paced entrepreneurship with integrity and compliance, developing technologies that make people feel confident and beautiful.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for the full system lifecycle, not just coding, but understanding, debugging, and testing software to a production-ready level.
That means:
* Rebuilding a Clinical Trial Management Suite from VB to C#
* Debugging and testing the entire system for performance and reliability
* Integrating hardware devices like cameras and skin measurement tools
* Developing proprietary image analysis software to process clinical data
* Creating live analytics tools to support clinical research
* Ensuring compliance with FDA 21 CFR and ISO standards, including writing validation documents for audits
What You Need to Succeed
We need someone who doesn’t just write code, but understands how systems work as a whole. You should have:
* Expert-level C# coding skills
* Experience with SQL Server and database design
* A strong background in debugging, full-system testing, and production deployment
* Device integration experience (working with APIs for hardware connections)
* The ability to work independently and manage multiple aspects of development
Experience in clinical trials, MedTech, or regulated environments is a plus, but not essential.
The Work Setup
Cyden has offices in Swansea and London, so you can be based in either location, or possibly remote for the right person. Due to the need for hardware integration, being in the office at least some of the time is preferable.
What’s in It for You?
* Salary to be discussed
* 25 days holiday (rising with tenure)
* 5% company pension contributions
* Discretionary bonus
* Career development opportunities
* A flexible working model with visits to Swansea HQ and London office
