We are currently working with Primary schools across Stoke on Trent and Stafford and looking for SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistants
We seek to appoint a passionate Learning Support Assistant, who have experience of working with children on a 1:1 basis with special educational needs.
The qualifying candidates will have strong knowledge and understanding of working with children with Special Education Needs. Therefore, you must be able to provide a consistent, nurturing environment for your assigned pupil in this role and be able to establish strong relationships.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
* To work under the guidance of the class teacher to support teaching and learning of your 1:1 pupil.
* To use behaviour management strategies effectively and in line with the school’s policy and procedures, which contribute to a purposeful learning environment.
* To promote the inclusion of all pupils ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
* To be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
* To work 1:1 with an allocated student and provide support in all educational areas.
Person Specification:
* Hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in early childhood education
* Proven experience working with children in a preschool setting, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for their growth and development
* Experience working with SEN
* Awareness of safeguarding young people
* High degree of resilience
* Good communication skills
* Team player
