This is an excellent opportunity to complete an Advanced Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship and gain valuable experience within a nursery setting. This vacancy is suitable for anyone interested in starting or pursuing a career within an Early Years setting.
The Apprentice Nursery Assistant will work as part of a team, maintain a flexible attitude to work, be professional, treat everyone with kindness and respect, and have the confidence to communicate with a range of healthcare staff.
The Apprentice will ensure a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures, religious backgrounds, and stages of development. Working in the nursery requires the apprentice to be flexible and alter activities and priorities as needed.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will contribute positively to the activity of the Nursery Team and will:
* Meet and greet children, parents, and carers in a friendly, polite, and professional manner.
* Work on own initiative.
* Provide high standards and contribute to a safe, fun, and stimulating environment.
* Under guidance, organise, arrange, and provide activities under the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum to meet the individual needs of the children.
* Adhere to Nursery Policy and Operational Plan and inform the Manager of any ineffective practice.
* Be committed to the Trust Values - Listening, Excelling, and Caring.

Job Responsibilities
* Attend all mandatory components of the Apprenticeship Standard including:
o Corporate induction
o GHNHSFT mandatory training
o Department-based vocational assessments
o Progress review meetings
* Undertake training as required and agreed with the mentor, supervisor, and external assessor, completing competencies relevant to the work area/department.
* Contribute to good standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the nursery setting.
* Understand and apply confidentiality within the workplace.
* Be flexible in meeting the needs of the Nursery, i.e., working within different units of the Nursery and varying hours.
* Undertake any other duties to support the Nursery Nurses and other Nursery staff to provide an efficient service.

Qualifications
* GCSE Grade D/3 in English and Maths or equivalent.
Experience
* Previous experience of working within a childcare setting.
Knowledge/Skills
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative, independently, and as part of a team.
* Committed and responsible for personal development and completion of the Advanced Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship.
