Job overview
We are recruiting for an MDT Coordinator and Pathway tracker who shares our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The post holder will take responsibility for ensuring that all patients with either a suspected or diagnosed cancer are proactively tracked through the appropriate patient pathway from point of entry to the Trust, liaising with clinical and administrative teams to ensure each stage of their pathway is fully planned and booked to achieve cancer wait times targets.
You will facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that coordinated administrative processes are in place. This will include managing a PTL and facilitating MDT meetings.

Main duties of the job
The MDT/Patient Pathway Coordinator will take responsibility for patients referred by their GPs with a suspicion of cancer.
You will have a good understanding of the NHS and Trust systems along with proven office skills, which should include word processing and excel along with some understanding of medical terminology and the ability to type to facilitate live data entry in MDT meetings.
You will be able to work in a calm, logical, and methodical way whilst being able to multi-task in a busy environment and interact with people at all levels both internally and externally.
Ensure that the relevant clinical data is available at the meeting for discussion, including notes, investigations, and test results, including liaising with outside hospitals for relevant information.
Attend weekly MDT meetings and maintain a record of attendance of the multidisciplinary team at MDT meetings in line with peer review.

Person specification
Qualifications
* 5 GCSE or equivalent in English and Math
* Excellent written and presentation skills
* RSA 1/2 typing or equivalent
Knowledge
* Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel databases, creating, saving and printing documents and reports.
* Basic knowledge of cancer and its management
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Knowledge of infoflex
* Knowledge of CRIS
* Knowledge of PAS
* Understanding the patient pathway of care through an acute trust setting
Experience
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment with a varied range of staff from Consultant to clinic clerks
* Ability to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines
* Worked in the NHS or a health-related setting
* Ability to use patient administration systems such as PAS, CLINiCOM, CRIS
* Experience of cancer services within the NHS
