Sports Coach, Mentor and Development Officer
Redgate Sports is a charity which uses sport and mentoring to support children and young people. We work with children who are: care experienced, have a special educational need, have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion, from low-income families. Due to increased demand and supported by recent funding applications, we are now recruiting for 2 employed roles: ‘Development Officer and Coach/Mentor’. One role is based in Redditch across to Stratford/Solihull and the second role is based in Worcestershire: Worcester, Evesham, Malvern, Kidderminster, Bromsgrove. Salary: £27,000 to £30,000 (This is an indication - we are happy to be flexible on the exact contract for the right candidate)

About the Role
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The role is to lead and oversee the Redgate Sports programme in the identified area. The majority of the week will be working in schools and delivering sessions. In addition, each week there is allocated time to support the coaching team.
The role is made up of 4 areas:
1. Oversee the delivery and growth of the Redgate Sports programme in the identified area
2. Manage and support the coaching team
3. Deliver sport and mentoring sessions as leader of the coaching team
4. Work with Redgate Sports CEO and the other coaches and development officers to improve and grow the Redgate Sports programme
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Essentials: Qualifications and Experience
1. Sport Coaching qualification with a recognised National Governing Body. The qualification must qualify you to work independently with individuals and groups OR a teaching qualification
2. Experience coaching in schools and/or community programmes
3. Experience of or interest in mentoring/helping children and young people
Essentials: Other
1. Access to a car and current UK driving licence
2. Appointed persons 1st aid (can be achieved as part of recruitment process)
3. Satisfactory DBS (this will be applied for as part of the recruitment process)
4. Excellent communicator – able to build rapport, listen, be patient, be kind and take an interest in all people
5. Personal organisation and admin skills
6. Experience of youth work, working with vulnerable children/young people, working with children with special educational needs
