Job Title: Senior Supervising Social Worker

Salary: £46,512 - £50,574 per annum

About the role:
We are looking for a Supervising Social Worker to support, supervise, and develop foster carers in providing high-quality placements for children and young people. You will play a key role in ensuring carers feel supported, empowered, and equipped to meet the diverse needs of children while ensuring compliance with fostering regulations and safeguarding policies.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support & Supervision - Provide regular supervision, guidance, and emotional support to foster carers, helping them navigate challenges and develop their skills.
· Safeguarding & Compliance - Ensure all placements meet fostering regulations, monitor children's well-being, and respond to safeguarding concerns appropriately.
· Placement Stability - Work closely with social workers and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children, supporting carers in managing complex behaviours.
· Training & Development - Assess carer training needs, deliver training sessions, and encourage a strong fostering community.
· Record Keeping & Reporting - Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for fostering panels and care reviews.
What We Are Looking For:
Essential Criteria:
· Qualifications - Social Work degree (or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.
· Experience - Extensive post-qualification experience, ideally in fostering, children's services, or safeguarding.
· Strong understanding of fostering regulations and safeguarding procedures.
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
· Ability to assess risk and make informed decisions.
· Flexible working, including occasional evenings and weekends.
· Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel within the borough.
Desirable Criteria:
· Experience in delivering training or working with fostering panels.
· Knowledge of therapeutic fostering approaches.
