Role Overview
The Sales Account Manager will be a key player in our field sales team, primarily responsible for managing client accounts and driving sales growth through regular face-to-face visits with clients and prospects. You will spend the majority of your time on the road, building relationships with vape shops, convenience stores, and distributors, ensuring our products are well-represented and driving new business opportunities. This role is ideal for a candidate based in the Manchester area who enjoys travel and thrives in a dynamic, customer-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Field Sales & Client Engagement
1. Spend 3-4 days a week visiting clients in your territory, conducting face-to-face meetings to strengthen relationships and drive sales.
2. Actively seek out and visit new business opportunities by prospecting potential clients in the vape, convenience, and retail sectors.
3. Present new products and promotional offers during store visits, ensuring product visibility and strong brand representation.
4. Gather and relay customer feedback, market trends, and competitor insights from the field to the Area Manager and other teams.
Account Management
1. Maintain and nurture client relationships through regular in-person interactions and follow-ups.
2. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing any queries or concerns promptly during client visits.
3. Manage the entire sales process from lead generation to order fulfillment, including processing orders and coordinating with logistics to ensure timely deliveries.
Sales Administration
1. Manage day-to-day administrative tasks such as order inputs and CRM updates when not on the road.
2. Organise and schedule your own road days.
3. Generate reports on your sales activities, performance, and market insights to support sales strategies.
Market Analysis and Reporting
1. Conduct regular field research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities within your territory.
2. Provide insights and reports to support strategic decision-making and enhance sales effectiveness.
Customer Onboarding and Upselling
1. Onboard new clients in person, ensuring they understand our product range and are set up for success.
2. Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products during client visits.
Performance Tracking and KPIs
1. Monitor your sales performance against KPIs, ensuring that targets for client visits, sales growth, and customer retention are consistently met.
Skills
1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly in face-to-face meetings.
2. Highly organised with excellent time management, especially when planning field activities.
3. Self-motivated and able to work independently while on the road.
4. Proficient in using CRM systems and reporting tools to manage client data and track sales activities.
