The role entails liaising directly on all aspects of sudden and unexpected deaths within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, and on occasion from elsewhere. The role includes acting as a principle liaison and point of contact between numerous external agencies and the families of the deceased.The post is based at Lawrence Court in Huntingdon (no parking is provided), although working in Peterborough other Cambridgeshire locations will be required on occasions.Applicants will be able to demonstrate an organised and efficient approach to work, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Candidates will also be required to demonstrate excellent prioritisation capabilities. You must be proficient at using IT systems (including WORD, Outlook and EXCEL). You will be required to contribute positively to the effective running of the Coroner Service, and to deliver enhanced levels of service to bereaved families, and partner agenciesAn understanding of the requirement for confidentiality is essential, as are good communication skills. The nature of this job requires the post holder to view deceased persons, photographs of deceased persons and to work directly with the recently bereaved. Occasionally they will also be required to attend post mortems.
