We are seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full range of cost-related activities in building and civil engineering projects, ensuring that all projects are completed within budget. Key responsibilities include providing accurate cost estimates, monitoring project expenditures, and implementing cost control strategies to optimise project profitability throughout the lifecycle. This position offers a hybrid work environment, with a combination of site-based, office-based, and remote working. Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor - Civils Location: Preston or Stafford Salary: Up to £60,000 £6k Car Allowance Company Benefits Key Responsibilities: Develop, update, and assess detailed cost estimates and project budgets. Oversee the complete commercial process from initial enquiry to final account closure. Deliver accurate and timely monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) to senior management. Implement effective cost control methods to ensure project profitability and cost efficiency. Manage contract documentation, including bills of quantities and scope of works. Negotiate terms and ensure compliance with all legal and company regulations. Ensure prompt payment applications and maintain accurate project cash flow forecasts. Respond efficiently and professionally to client queries and requests. Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate quantity surveyors. Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team environment. Required Qualifications and Skills: A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is essential. Proven experience in quantity surveying or cost management, ideally within the Civil Engineering sector. Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and regulatory standards. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail. In-depth knowledge of NEC contracts and their application. Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
