Main duties of the job
* Versatile Work Settings: Provide care across acute settings, community clinics, residential and nursing homes, day centres, and patients' homes.
* Patient Treatment Management: Actively manage treatment programmes in line with care planning and discharge guidelines.
* Collaborative Decision-Making: Use the decision-making processes to identify when patients need referrals to other professionals or specialist areas, following agreed pathways.
* Nail Surgery: Perform nail surgery (undertaking procedures under supervision if not already proficient).
* Specialist Rotations: Participate in rotations in areas such as nail surgery, diabetes, patho-mechanics, and vascular care.
* Orthoses Provision: Arrange for orthoses, pressure-relieving insoles, and shoe inserts as needed.
* Workload Planning: Plan and manage your daily workload for wards, clinics, home visits, and visits to residential and nursing homes.
* Flexibility: Provide cover for other podiatrists at short notice or during absences, covering sites across North Manchester.
* Administrative Duties: Complete all necessary administrative tasks associated with the role.
* Additional Duties: Perform any other duties as required by the department.
* Compliance: Adhere to all Trust policies, guidelines, and procedures.

* Recognised BSc Honours degree in podiatry or equivalent
* State registration via Health and Care Professions Council
* Evidence of relevant post graduate training including attendance at relevant specialist courses

* Involvement in special interest group

Knowledge and Experience
Essential
* Previous postgraduate clinical experience as a junior in a broad rotational post
* Previous postgraduate clinical experience of managing high risk podiatry patients
* Specialist knowledge of podiatry assessment and treatment technique
* Working knowledge of local and national policies and procedures e.g. Manual Handling, The Royal College of Podiatry/Health and Care Professionals Council Code of Conduct/Ethics, Health and Safety, Infection Control, CPR, Equality and Diversity
* Evidence of Continual Professional Development
* Experience of and commitment to interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary team working
* Experience of supervision of students and assistants
