Operations Manager for Primary Care Network, NW Surrey at NHS England
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be working closely with GP practices, prioritising and responding to visit requests. Visits are primarily in patients' homes, with treatment plans, referrals, or admissions as agreed with the duty GPs as appropriate. Most work is same day - and urgent or emergency patients are prioritised and responded to appropriately.
Experience with EMIS is useful - otherwise full training will be given - although good IT skills are essential.
The following are the core responsibilities of the Operations Manager:
1. Pre-triage econsults and same day access
2. Allocations/workflowing of patients to the correct clinician in the correct time frame
3. Consulting with patients either F2F, by phone or by econsult
4. Supporting the duty doctor with medical complexity
5. Supporting reception with care navigation
6. Good communication with the team and patient
7. Good use of IT systems- EMIS/Docmail/econsult/AccuRx
8. Home visits & Care home visits
9. Support mentoring and supervision of students/colleagues/other health professionals as appropriate within skill set.
Applicants need to have:
1. Completed their two-year ‘Consolidation of Learning’ period as a “newly qualified paramedic”
2. Three years’ experience as a AFC Band 6 (or equivalent) paramedic
3. Working towards developing academic Level 7 capability in paramedic areas of practice
4. Completed and been signed off formally within the clinical competencies of the FCP Roadmap within six months of commencement of reimbursement.
The role of a Home Visiting Paramedic is to:
1. Support the GP practice with home visits that operate during the working day.
2. Work in close collaboration with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team and support from GPs
3. Work as an autonomous, accountable Paramedic
4. Provide holistic care for individuals including assessment, diagnosis, and management
5. Refer and/or signpost patients in their own home or care home to other Allied Health Professionals (e.g., Community Nurses, Social Prescribers, etc.)
6. Provide clinical sessions for minor illness/injury treatment
7. Use advanced clinical and communication skills to provide education to patients, promoting self-care and empower them to make informed choices about their treatment
KEY REQUIREMENTS
1. Active and relevant professional registration with HCPC
2. Evidence of relevant CPD
3. Extensive experience as a Paramedic
